Kettlebell Exercises for a Hollywood Body

By Mike Sherman

The public is constantly comparing themselves to celebrities and trying to emulate them. Everyone is just in admiration of their bodies. Whether it's in the movies or in plays, actors and performers set the bar high for our culture. Everyone wants to discover the key to how celebrities get in such great shape. One growing method is kettlebell exercises.

An example of a star using kettlebell exercise to achieve "godlike" physical shape is Chris Hemsworth. In order to play in the movie "Thor", Hemsworth had to look like he had the comic book characters power of superhuman strength, power, and endurance. In order to play a Goliath warrior on the big screen, Hemsworth had to train like a Goliath warrior off screen.

According to his article with Men's Fitness, Hemsworth split his regime into two pieces. The first part was a high-weight, low rep workout designed to pack on maximum mass similar to what body-builders do. The second part of the workout was designed as total-body workouts that burn his excess fat while upholding his muscles gains. This second part is where the kettlebell exercises played a huge role.

Being required to devise a workout regimen takes a good amount of planning, but doesn't even come close to how arduous it is to actually carry it out. In his Men's Fitness article, Hemsworth stated that the kettlebell exercises were the toughest for him because he had no experience with them and they are a demanding fusion of cardio and weightlifting. He was quoted as saying that kettlebells are a "great way to build functional strength." This makes it clear how effective they are for athletes or anybody who wants to cross train.

He states also that the kettlebell exercises show that if you are prepared to work hard, you can achieve the results you've always desired. Many people who workout daily or have a solid weekly routine share that if you continue to work out you have more commitment. It is the notion of an object in motion will stay in motion, while an object at rest with stay at rest.
