Background

Stimulating The Economy

By Clare Crowden

Here is something you might find fascinating in today. Germany is now planning to cut taxes in its efforts to stabilize its own economy. According to Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel, this will help stimulate the economy throughout Europe. She also said that Germany is feeling the crunch created by the collapsed economy in Southern Europe.

She went on to say that her country felt it was their responsibility to do everything, including cutting taxes, to help stimulate the domestic economy. They have also set a goal of maintaining the domestic demand for goods imported from other countries in the euro zone.

It was just last May when Germany's parliament rejected plans by the government to cut taxes to the tune of 6 billion euros. Those who opposed this plan felt it was not in the best interest of the nation to approve it when the nation was struggling to balance its budget.

For the more conservative minded individual, cutting taxes to stimulate growth just makes sense. Not everyone agrees though. There is a school of thought that economic stimulus can only take place when more money is spent. Someone should tell them to try that with their own budgets.

Small business news brief here: spending money when you don't have it makes little sense. creating a stable economy does not involve added cash flow problems.

creating a stable economy does not involve added cash flow problems. Yes, there are times when investing small business news is the way to go, but one should never go beyond budget restrictions.

It is never the right thing to do to jeopardize a country's security, no matter what country we are talking about. Sometimes, treason is the thought behind making decisions that negatively affect one's country.

Because some people think that Europe is liberal overall, it is often thought that taxes would never be cut here. Nevertheless, there is something that can be learned from history when people just listen.

Due to the economic crisis of recent years, Europe has taken a hard hit. Other nations have determined that providing entitlements may not be best for all the people. With the knowledge gained from Europe's experience, maybe other nations should take a page out of their book.

Making people dependent of government has its downside. When greater numbers of people are not working, are we not reducing the funds that are used for entitlements? When a curse is put of the wealthy because of their initiative to gather riches, doesn't this inspire more decline?

What should nations do if they are in this situation? Look up and find leaders that have a calling higher than the acclaim of political office.
